Westside People: Luxelab Santa Monica Presents New Looks

The Luxe Group brought its five Los Angeles salons together at Luxelab on Montana avenue for an evening of education and inspiration to share the many inspirations from several recent international fashion shows their team participated in.

David Abrams and Jason Lara, the charismatic leaders of Luxelab, inc, spent years fostering and cultivating talent through their industry leading in-house Luxelab Academy, and are proud to witness the unrivaled talent that has grown from it.

The show opened with special guests Marlene Arce (national Vice President of Education for Loreal Professionelle) and Victoria Chestnut (West Coast Educational Director for Loreal Professionelle) outlining Loreal’s storied history and the grand vision for the future.

Then Shawn Cunningham (Partner and Manager of Luxelab Bel Air) and Colette Simon (Manager of Luxelab Montana and academy educational director) treated the 75 hairdressers in attendance to looks they created inspired by their recent experience traveling with Loreal in Vienna, Austria. Shawms inspired, yet commercial long layered haircut was contrasted by Colettes editorial, antique Ferris wheel inspired hairstyle.

Next Abrams introduced Craig Wcislo (Montana avenue salon stylus and partner and Kerastase national educational leader) and Jen Beckerman (Luxelab’s senior Editorial stylist and lead stylist for One Styling) presented the work they did back stage in New York fashion week spring shows for brands like Jason Woo, Thakoon, and many more. From corset inspired runway styling to edgy updos, this team showed the skills that only working backstage in high pressure situations can bring.

Next they featured Lauren Sill (Luxelab creative director, Kerastase lead educator, and Shu Uemura creative Director) and Amanda Gonsoulin (Luxelab Creative Director, Loreal National color educator) and Lead Academy Color Educator) presented a forecast of the latest color trends with techniques called “color melting) and “pony lights” to create soft, yet dramatic color transitions for spring.

Finally, Eric Garza (Luxelab Bel Air stylist and Loreal National styling Educator) and Beth Montgomery (Montana Avenue Assistant Manager and Loreal National styling educator) presented a avant-garde work based on their recent photo shoot experience in Paris with Loreal. Complete with eye popping updos, spectacular headpieces, and extraordinary hair extensions, these two took style to another level.
Each of the models were adorned in original fashion creations from Craig Wcislo and ornate costume jewelry from Margaret Rowe Couture jewelry which is also available at Luxelab for purchase, and styled by Liz Abrams and Ani Avakyan for Luxelab, inc.
Make up by Heather Pepe and Janae from Luxelab Pasadena.
