Alexander Maud is a former radio DJ with roots in England, Florida, and Boston. He began his career as a hairstylist at G2O in the heart of Boston’s fashion scene: Newbury Street. After more than 5 years he joined the prestigious Mizu Salon and in June of 2013 Alexander relocated to Los Angeles to grow his career with the Luxelab Santa Monica team as a Senior Stylist.
Alexander has a passion for mentoring junior stylists and was one of four Educators for Mizu’s training program. He has furthered his own education with The Doves and Oribe and has perfected razor cutting techniques through advanced training with Bumble and Bumble, KMS, and Euphora.
Alexander specializes in creative styling and was a go-to for editorial work in Boston. In 2009, he styled the cover and feature set for the re-launch of Stuff Boston magazine. He has also been featured in Panorama, Improper Bostonian, and Boston Magazine and styled television segments for both Chronicle and Style Boston.
In 2011, he was invited to style the Zac Posen show at Niemen Marcus and held a 3-month residency styling hair for Fashionably Late at the Liberty Hotel. His Boston Fashion Week roster includes the Lily and Migs show and M. Miller Fur. Alexander lists Aly Raisman, Katie Couric, Chelsea Clinton, DJ Starscream, many local TV personalities and anchors, and members of the Boston Red Sox among his celebrity clientele. He has also worked closely with Patch NYC and Project Runway alum David Chum (Selahdor).
Since moving to LA, Alexander has expanded his fashion portfolio to include the Spring 2014 look book for Gladys Tamez Millinery and the FCI Fall 2013 Fashion Show, as well as New York Fashion Week for spring/summer 2015 and was recently selected to join the L’Oreal Professionnel team as an Educator.
