Kevin Pelham
A small town boy from Brooklyn, Michigan, Kevin’s love for the salon began at a young age, while visiting his aunt’s salon with his mother. But it was when his mother was diagnosed with breast cancer and needed to shave her hair that Kevin realized how much power and importance hair holds.
Armed with his new passion, Kevin began his styling education at Douglas J Aveda School where he graduated in 2013. He then began his styling career working for top salons in Ann Arbor Michigan. But his need for growth and adventure led him through Nashville for a few years, then ultimately to LA in 2020 without knowing a soul. But after many amazing experiences with some of the top stylists in the industry Kevin landed at luxelab in October 2021 and completed it’s renown Education Program in record time.
Kevin finds inspiration everywhere. His deep love and excitement for fashion shows and photo shoots has inspired him to work on many of them. He also finds inspiration in surrounding himself with creative people and expressing his own creativity through his love of tattoos.
When in the salon the biggest inspiration for his unique vision in hair color comes from nature herself, specializing in lived in, low maintenance color, hi- lights, and balayage. He loves creating feminine looks such as short textured cuts and long beautiful layers. For masculine looks, perhaps a nice fade with clippers or a tailored cut with shears. Whatever the look, the integrity of the hair is always his utmost concern. Most importantly he seeks to make his clients feel more confident by enhancing their own natural beauty, believing small changes often have the biggest impact. He is a great listener, and a very down to earth person whose favorite part about doing hair is meeting all of the amazing people and the wonderful conversations they bring with them.
