Orlando Ortega
Orlando, a Hawaiian native whose background is in contemporary dance and choreography, is known for mentoring some of Hawaii’s most talented dancers. After a bad fall made it impossible to continue down a dancers path, Orlando moved to Los Angeles to take the brave step of starting over and pursued a new career in hair.
A graduate of the prestigious Vidal Sassoon Academy, Orlando got his start in the industry working with celebrity hairstylist Allen Edwards before finding his home at the renowned Luxelab Salon on Montana Avenue. His leadership skills as a mentor, along with his hard work and impeccable talents, quickly garnered him the role of Assistant Manager of Luxelab Salon.
After extensive training in Luxelab’s business program, Orlando was recruited as the founding manager of Artlab Salon. Along with LuxeGroup founders David Abrams and Jason Lara, Orlando has helped to launch Artlab in its new location and has contributed to the rapid success of this trend setting Downtown Santa Monica salon.
Providing a hip, high-end salon experience, Orlando is a Mentor Stylist specializing in both cut and color. Citing individual beauty as inspiration, he firmly believes that beauty differs from person to person, and strives to create looks that bring out his clients’ unique natural beauty.
